Supportive Care & Survivorship (Core 3)

Core 3 - Part 1

Part 1 aims to address the psychosocial care, survivorship and the patient's experience by the following key projects: 1) to address knowledge and implementation gaps in patient supportive care and survivorship.  2) to add quality of life (QoL) measures and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs)  to all new studies and extend the value of these measures. 3) to develop capacity via expert group facilitators and other support for patient groups.

Core 3 - Part 2

Part 2 aims to address the psychosocial care, survivorship and the patient experience by the following key projects: 1) by assessing QoL measures for all melanoma patients using both melanoma-specific (QLQ-MEL38) and generic multi-attribute utility instruments.  2) by building on our work 1,2 on unmet psychological needs in the context of the melanoma High-Risk Clinic.  3) by assessing the psychosocial impact of an increased accuracy of  prognosis, identifying predictors of poor outcome, and designing and testing interventions of adjuvant therapy (therapy applied after initial treatment) and advanced disease.
